My breast cancer story

I felt my lump in the shower 10 years ago (May 1998), went to the doctor and because my breast was painful, I had no history of Breast cancer in my family, I had just had a clean mammogram 3 months prior and I had cystic breast, I was told not to worry, that it is not cancer as breast cancer is not painful. But I should keep on checking it and if I still feel it to come back to the doctor. It almost doubled within 6 weeks, so I went back and after new mammogram, sonogram and a biopsy I was diagnosed with breast cancer, a fast growing one, stage 3 and hormone receptor negative. I had to have a lumpectomy, a lumpectomy and then another one because the margins were not clear. I had chemotherapy as the cancer was already in my lymph nodes and radiation. My last treatment was in March of 1999 and Thank G-d I am doing very well 10 years later. I wish the same for anyone with breast or another cancer.
